Love the car, Hate the repairs and poor resale

Original owner, and religiously serviced at dealership. At 49000, high oil consumption. Under warranty, new slightly larger pistons installed which solved that problem. At 113000, started up rough so took it right to dealer for service. Timing chain jumped resulting in interference strike of two valves to pistons. My car was NOT included in class action lawsuit on timing chain/tensioner defect. First repair for timing chain, tensioner is $3400, but then service dept determined that there were bent valves after all, which is another $7500. No way can this be worth it. Too bad, I really liked the car in every way. Great economy, handling, comfort, versatility, quattro drive, ... but not reliable, high costs for service, and very bad resale.…
I've never met an Audi I didn't love!

My 3rd Audi and I've loved them all. I fell in love with the body style of the 2015 Q5 and searched for THE one in lieu of getting the new 2018. I've been driving it nearly 3 years and am still as happy as day one. It gets great gas mileage, accelerates and handles almost as fun as my TT and has been extremely reliable. The interior is understated but classy with an edge; the instrument panel and all the buttons light up at night, making it feel state of the art. Of course, the sound system is superior and I love the convenience of bluetooth, navigation and more. I noticed in one of the "professional" reviews that it was dinged for lack of cargo space; however, I find that even with 3 grandkids in the back (all in child safety seats) and a front passenger, that there's still plenty of room in back for the kiddos' overnight bags and some weekend groceries. I am a furniture artist and frequently pick up antique pieces; with the back seats down, people are always amazed at what I am capable of loading it up with. Of course, scheduled maintenance is pricey but I know to expect that and always feel confident that unexpected repairs will be few and very far between. At 80K I've yet to have a single issue, not even a broken knob or rattle inside or out. Which says a lot considering I live outside the city and regularly drive on not-so-great country roads. My one and only minor complaint is cabin noise but it's mostly wind which is always blowing like crazy around here. All-in-all, I am as pleased with this Audi as the others I have had in the past and feel confident that my next car will be an Audi as well.…
Great vehicle until you have no warranty

One of the best driving vehicles we have owned in the last 35 years. BUT, the issues started happening after warranty expired. AC system went out at 28000 miles and steering system went out at 32000 miles on a 1500 mile road trip, all in places with no Audi dealers to repair. Repairs are extremely expensive and time consuming so we would recommend the extended warranty. Again, great vehicle but systems should not be failing at 30000 miles.…
