Best-selling Cars, Trucks, and SUVs for 2024
Each year, as we pass the halfway mark, we take a look at the top selling vehicles so far. For 2024, there are few surprises in our top ten list, but increased inventory means sales have been strong. Automakers are finally back to keeping up with demand and the major manufacturers continue to be Ford, General Motors, Toyota and Honda.

As you might expect, trucks still dominate the top spots for the most sales, followed by crossover SUVs, and there's even one sedan in the top ten this year.

Transportation’s Tempting Twenty

Before we reveal America's favorites, we thought you'd like a taste of which vehicles made the top 20 for most sales. In the number 20 spot we find that faithful adventure wagon known as the Subaru Outback. With a minor update in 2023, the Outback is up 10 percent this year. At 19, Toyota's three-row SUV, the Highlander was joined by the larger Grand Highlander. In the 18th spot, the Ford Explorer SUV is still running strong. At 17, the reliable Honda Accord four-door sedan is up thanks to a redesign in 2023. The Honda Civic is at 16 on the list, up 50 percent in sales this year.

Hyundai's exceptional Tuscon compact crossover is setting sales records in the 15th spot, up 20 percent over last year. Chevy's all-new Equinox takes 14th place as a qualified crossover. Another sedan is at 13 on the list, and it is the Toyota Corolla, beating out the Honda Civic. We find an all-electric car in the 12th position and it's none other than the Tesla model 3. At least that's what Automotive News tells us since Tesla doesn't break down its sales by region. And at number 11, we find our first pickup truck, the Toyota Tacoma. Sales are up thanks to a all-new package.
The Top 10
All that said, here are the best of the best for 2024… so far; the Top 10 selling vehicles in the United States. All of these have sold over a quarter million units so far this year.

A two-row mid-size SUV, the Grand Cherokee is more a lavish around towner than an off-road ready Jeep. It comes in a wide range of trim levels, from the entry level Laredo (under $40K) to the posh Summit Reserve model. Powered by a 293-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 and rear wheel drive, all-wheel-drive is obviously available. The fastest Grand Cherokee is the 4xe Hybrid model, which can get you from zero to 60mph in 5.3 seconds.

Over the last two years, the Rogue's sales have leaped nearly 50 percent. With a smooth ride and a comfy interior, the top tier levels even include a 12.3-inch touchscreen showcasing the latest Google software. The Rogue got a makeover for 2024 with a sexy new grille, revised rear end and new wheel designs. This crossover starts a just over $30K.

With over 300,000 units sold so far this year, the ever-popular Camry is the only mid-size sedan in the top 10.
