Updated July 10th, 2025 | Author: Anthony Toronto
Ford Remains On Top
Ever since Ford created the Model T Runabout in 1925, American's have been infatuated with pickup trucks. Last year pickup truck sales accounted for over 79.9 percent of the 15.5 million vehicles sold in the United States. It's easy to see why pickups are so popular. Today's trucks offer a wide variety of styles for every need and taste, from towing and hauling, to complete comfort and the latest infotainment and safety features.
Ford, General Motors, and RAM continue to lead the pack with their full-size trucks, but not all makes and models of trucks made it to our Top 10 list this year. While Nissan's Titan only sold 19,189 units, it was up 27.4 percent over the previous year - still not enough to crack the top ten. Likewise, the GMC Canyon's sales dropped by 19.3 percent in 2023 but will likely make that up with a new fourth generation model for 2024 that includes a mighty AT4X Edition.
Auto giant Ford's Ranger dropped 43.3 percent last year, selling only 32,334 units. But that was before the Motor Company ramped up production on the mid-size Ranger. Let's see how it does this year. On the other side of the coin, the Honda Ridgeline had a great year, up 21.6 percent and selling 52,001 trucks. But what about the Top 10 best-sellers?
For our look at the top 10 best-selling pickup trucks of last year we used rankings by sales numbers provided by automakers.
