It's a great road trip vehicle for up to eight passengers. The EX-L trim even has leather seats and power sliding doors. #3. 2015 Toyota Highlander

Can't see yourself behind the wheel of a minivan? Then the ultra-reliable Toyota Highlander SUV might fit the bill. This stylish and comfortable midsize family hauler holds seven or eight passengers thanks to three-rows of seating and there's 83.7 cubic feet of cargo room in the back. An EPA Rated 18 mpg city/24 mpg highway/20 mpg combined. The XLE variant comes with a V6 and is available with all-wheel drive. There's even a hybrid version.

#4. 2015 Honda Pilot

The Highlander's top rival is no doubt the Honda Pilot. This midsize SUV also seats eight in its spacious cabin and offers 87 cubic feet of cargo room. It is remarkably easy to maneuver in tight parking lots and the EPA Rated 17 mpg city/24 mpg highway/20 mpg combined. If your family is on the "outdoorsy" side, the all-wheel drive Outback is the ultimate adventure wagon. #6. 2015 Honda CR-V

With a total refresh for 2015, the CR-V won Kelley Blue Book's Small SUV Best Buy Award. This five-seater is also very fuel efficient with the 2WD - EPA Rated 27 mpg city/33 mpg highway/29 mpg combined; 4WD - EPA Rated 26 mpg city/32 mpg highway/28 mpg combined and boasts low running costs and high reliability. #7. 2015 Toyota RAV4

America's best-selling crossover SUV, the RAV4 has it all and got a total redesign for 2016. Toyota is known for reliability and the RAV4 features a comfortable ride for five, good cargo space, and 2WD - EPA Rated 23 mpg city/30 mpg highway/26 mpg combined and 4WD - EPA Rated 22 mpg city/28 mpg highway/25 mpg combined.
