New Dodge Hornet

New Hot Hatch Creates a Buzz
The original compact crossover is back. Dodge is reintroducing the Hornet for 2023 in a platform shared with the Alfa Romeo Tonale. Originally a compact hatchback by American Motors (AMC), the Hornet was made from 1970 through 1977. The new 2023 Hornet's 265-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder all-wheel drive GT model is joined by a plug-in hybrid variant in R/T trim. The Hornet will debut Dodge's first hybrid powertrain and the most high-tech gear in the brand's line for some extra sting.
The Wrap Up
We're really looking forward to taking the new Hornet out for a road test. It is poised to enter showrooms by the end of 2022. The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price has not yet been released by Dodge but the "buzz" by industry insiders suggest that the base model GT will debut with a price tag of around $29,995 not counting freight charges, and that the R/T PHEV will come in at around $39,995.
