Kicking the Tires on One Fast Caddy 
Today, we bring you a look at the new 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing. But the first question is, what exactly is a Blackwing? 
 
The CT4-V Blackwing is Cadillac's race-ready, four-door performance sedan that includes a V6 engine on steroids. It is a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 that produces 472 horsepower and 446 pound-feet of torque. The top of the line CT4-V comes with a Tremec six-speed manual transmission though a ten-speed automatic is an option. Whether you choose the manual or automatic transmission, the Blackwing cars are rear-wheel drive only.

Top Speed Performance

Twin intercooled turbos are mounted between the cylinder heads in what is known as a "Hot-V" configuration. The design offers quicker response and greater efficiency. Ninety percent of the engine's peak torque is available at just 2,000 rpm, carrying through to 5,200 rpm. In short, the Blackwing offers drivers a serious date to detonate. 

Now let's put that torque monster into the CT4-V sedan. For the Blackwing variant, GM has added larger Brembo brakes and rotors, new dampers, forged aluminum wheels and excellent 18-inch Michelin Super Sport 4S sticky tires. There's also an aluminum limited-slip differential to save weight.
Add to this GM's Magnetic Ride Control and a five-link rear suspension as well as stiffer springs and bushings, and this more rigid ride feels like a meaty go-kart in the corners. All this performance fiddling about means that the new CT4-V Blackwing will take you from zero to 60 mph in a flesh-melting 3.8 seconds. Top speed is an impressive Autobahn worthy 189 mph!
